There are also cultural activities and field trips, tutors, a state-of-the-art language learning center, and individualized mentoring for every student.

The curriculum includes four levels of instruction, each with distinctive linguistic and cultural emphases.

In addition, weekly cultural activities and field trips are designed to enrich the student's American experience. Individual tutors are provided for each student to enhance the learning environment and work on specific instructional needs. A state-of-the-art language/computer lab also provides students with the benefit of careful practice and individualized assessment.

Students who reach the Advanced and Academic Purposes levels may enroll in academic classes at SUNY New Paltz while enrolled in HELP.

Teachers also provide individual mentoring for every student so that the learning experience proceeds naturally, both in and out of the classroom.
